See and Unsee
by Jason Edwood Thomas
You have never seen
What I can never unsee.
You sit home and wonder
What am I going through?
And I dream of home,
Each and every day.
I am not unhappy with my choice.
I made it, it is mine.
This burden I bear,
Sometimes seems unfair.
But when I think of you,
I no longer care.
I am home now,
But sometimes;
It still feels like I am there.
And when I get that feeling, my heart starts to race.
But to calm down; all I need
Is to see your face.
When my eyes close I am there,
But when they open I am here.
And I realize that is all that matters.
What I can never unsee.
You sit home and wonder
What am I going through?
And I dream of home,
Each and every day.
I am not unhappy with my choice.
I made it, it is mine.
This burden I bear,
Sometimes seems unfair.
But when I think of you,
I no longer care.
I am home now,
But sometimes;
It still feels like I am there.
And when I get that feeling, my heart starts to race.
But to calm down; all I need
Is to see your face.
When my eyes close I am there,
But when they open I am here.
And I realize that is all that matters.
