It's All About You
by Morgan Smith
You never listened;
You never do.
How can I be reassured
For forever and when I say, "I do"?
I was a little girl with big dreams;
I thought I always knew where I could lean.
It was all empty promises,
As you tried to get clean.
I can never relate to the other girls,
They are always fantasizing about their big day -
Curls, fabulous whirls, and white pearls
As I'm constantly wondering where we lay.
You continue to lack,
And I know my mother always has my back
But the day comes to promise "I do".
And God only knows, it's all about you.
You never do.
How can I be reassured
For forever and when I say, "I do"?
I was a little girl with big dreams;
